A Scottish police officer was let go from the force earlier this year following allegations that they were sexually inappropriate towards a child.
The case was among eight mentioned in a Scottish Police Authority report about officers facing gross misconduct hearings in the first three months of the year.
Three officers, including the one accused of being sexually inappropriate towards a child, were dismissed while one was demoted, two were given final warnings and two resigned ahead of their hearings.
The allegations investigated range of allegations pf instigating unwanted sexual contact to assaulting a colleague whilst off-duty.
The report also states three officers appeared in court, one was found guilty of threatening and abusive behaviour and another was found guilty and other offences.
The officer accused of being sexually inappropriate towards a child was found not proven in court.
The Scottish Police Authority report reads: “An officer was dismissed in relation to inappropriate sexual behaviour towards a child.
“The matter was taken to trial in court, and the charge was found not proven.
“Police Scotland has clear responsibilities for safeguarding children and young people and there is no justification for causing harm to those who are the most vulnerable in our society.
“This behaviour will not be tolerated by the organisation and any police officers or members of police staff committing offences against children or young persons will be dealt with swiftly and robustly.”
