Rail passengers across Scotland are facing major disruption after a freight train broke down on the tracks.
The incident took place on the line between Larbert and Stirling on Thursday, affecting journeys between Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness.
Those waiting to board services at Stirling station were warned they could face delays, cancellations and alterations.
ScotRail has confirmed staff on board the broken down freight train are working to resolve the issue.
A spokesperson said: “We have received reports of a broken down freight train, between Larbert and Stirling, which is blocking the line. Staff on board are currently trying to fix the issue.
“Services here will be subject to delays, cancellations and alterations at this time.”
