ScotRail services between Glasgow and Wemyss Bay have been cancelled after a tree fell onto the tracks.
The transport provider said a tree was blocking the line between Port Glasgow and Whinhill with services across that route impacted.
“Disruption is expected to last until around half 9,” ScotRail said.
“We’re dealing with a tree that is blocking the line meaning we’re currently unable to operate train services between Glasgow and Wemyss Bay.
“Train services from Glasgow will terminate and start back from Port Glasgow.”
Network Rail said its response team is on its way to resolve the issue and that the line would be open as soon as its work is complete.
Meanwhile, the A75 between Cree and Auchenlarie Caravan Park was also closed on Thursday morning due to a fallen tree before reopening.
The M8 is currently restricted at junction 19 due to flooding.
It comes after large swathes of Scotland were hit with yellow weather warnings on Thursday.
The Met Office alert for rain, which covered all of western Scotland, ended at 8am but a warning for wind will be in place for parts of mid and southern Scotland until 9am.
Gusts of up to 60mph are expected on Thursday.
The Met Office said: “A spell of very strong southwesterly winds will occur during the early hours of Thursday, easing from the west during the morning.
“Gusts of 50 mph are likely fairly widely with some gusts of 60 mph in exposed locations, including roads and bridges in north Wales, as well as roads passing over high ground in northern England and southern Scotland.
“These gusts will be strong enough to blow over a few trees, given that they are currently in full leaf.”
