Scotland is to fall silent on Armistice Day in memory of those who lost their lives during conflict.

The one o’clock gun at Edinburgh Castle will be fired at 11am as the country pays its respects to those who have given their lives over the years.

Remembrance events will be held across Scotland and the UK as tributes are paid to fallen armed forces personnel.

On Sunday, the King and Queen Consort will attend the annual Remembrance Day service at The Cenotaph in London, along with others members of the Royal Family.

It will be the first Remembrance Day to take place since the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

Charles will lay a new wreath, designed in tribute to the wreath of King George VI and the late Queen.

A wreath will also be laid on behalf of Camilla by an Equerry of the Royal Household.

Handwritten letters will accompany their wreaths bearing their new Royal cyphers.
