Drivers have been warned to take care on the roads as snow showers hit parts of Scotland.
A stretch of road on the A702 between Lamington and Abington in South Lanarkshire was closed in both directions on Thursday morning due to the adverse weather conditions.
At 10.40am, Amey SE Trunk Roads said the road was back open with gritters out patrolling until the risk is “fully over”.
As well as the A702 – a major road that runs from Edinburgh to St John’s Town of Dalry in Dumfries and Galloway, heavy snow was also reported on the A68 and A7.
A crash on the A68 blocked the Hundalee to Carter Bar route in the Scottish Borders, causing delays.
Road users have been advised to slow down and drive to the conditions.
An Amey spokesperson said: “Driving to the conditions is essential during winter weather as a small incident can have a huge impact on traction and gritters being able to pass and keep roads open.”
Scottish Borders Council said a number of school buses had been cancelled but no schools had been closed.
Borders Buses also advised that a number of services had been delayed due to the weather.
