The owner of Revolution bars has announced the closure of 21 venues with the loss of 591 jobs after appointing administrators.
The Revel Collective made the announcement on Tuesday. Lindsay Hallam, Matthew Callaghan and Oliver Wright of FTI Consulting LLP have been formally appointed as joint administrators.
The administrators completed two sale transactions for the business and assets of the company but this did not include all of its venues.
“Regrettably 14 Revolution, six Revolucion de Cuba and one Peach site did not form part of the transaction and those sites are being closed with immediate effect impacting 591 employees,” the notice said.
Revolution Glasgow on Renfield Street and Revolucion de Cuba Aberdeen will both be closed with immediate effect.
Revolution Glasgow on Mitchell Street and Revolution Aberdeen on Belmont Street are unaffected.
The company said the transaction secured the continuation of 20 Revolution, Revolucion de Cuba and Founders & Co bars and 21 Peach pubs, and protected 1,582 jobs across them.
