Police in Ireland are appealing for information to help identify a man with a Saltire tattoo who is fighting for his life after an attack in Dublin.
Two men have been arrested following the alleged assault at Cope Street in Dublin 2 on Wednesday at around 12:30am.
The male victim, whose identity and age remain unknown, is in a critical condition in Beaumont Hospital.
Police have released an image of his tattoo, which has the words ‘Ceol is Beatha’, meaning ‘music is life’ in Gaelic on his right forearm.
Gardaí arrested two men, aged in their 20s and 30s, in connection with the incident.
The pair are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Garda Stations in Dublin.
A Gardaí statement read: “We are seeking the help of the public in identifying the victim who has a tattoo on the inside of his right forearm.
“The tattoo is described as a blue and white flag with the words ‘Ceol is Beatha’, meaning ‘music is life’.
“Anyone with information about this alleged assault or the identity of the victim is asked to contact us at Pearse Street Garda Station on 01 666 9000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
