Persistent heavy rainfall is expected to bring travel disruption to the north-west of Scotland.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning, which comes into effect at 6pm on Sunday and expires at 9pm on Monday evening.
STV weather presenter Philip Petrie said: “Throughout Sunday we have seen a warm front nudging north eastwards, bringing with it persistent rain and generally wet and windy conditions for the vast majority of us.
“The only exception has been parts of East Lothian, Angus, Fife and Aberdeenshire who have seen some drier interludes today.
“The warm front sticks around for the next 24-36 hours, and stalls across the north of the country so we will be seeing some relentless and sometimes heavy rainfall in the north west Highlands, parts of Stirling, Perth & Kinross and Argyll & Bute. This is where a yellow weather warning for heavy rain comes into effect tonight at 6pm.
“This runs all the way through until 9pm Monday, as the rain will remain constant during that time, turning heavier once again through the latter half of Monday.
“Overnight Monday into Tuesday the frontal system finally starts to clear southwards dragging all that rain with it, and in actual fact Tuesday looks like a fairly decent day.
“Drier for many of us in comparison, with a few wintry showers – the most frequent of which will be in the north. It will be feeling a lot colder though, but the compensation for that is there will be more sunshine around too.
“Things turn unsettled again Thursday, with the chance of some significant snow, but that is still a far way off, so we will be keeping an eye on that over the next couple of days…”
