Parts of Scotland are set to be battered by strong winds this week as a yellow weather warning has been issued.
The yellow weather alert has been put in place by the Met Office and will affect the Western Isles, Highlands and Argyll and Bute.
Coming into force on Tuesday afternoon at 3pm, the weather warning for strong winds will continue into Wednesday morning.
Forecasters warn a deep area of low pressure passing close to the west of Scotland could bring very strong southwesterly winds to west and northwest parts of the country.
Peak gusts of 60mph are expected, with exposed headlands and high ground experiencing winds in excess of 70mph.
The Met Office added there is a small chance of even stronger winds should the area of low pressure pass closer to western Scotland, before winds gradually ease through to Wednesday morning.
Members of the public are urged to stay safe in coastal areas and to be aware of large waves, while walkers are urged to stay back from cliffs and keep dogs on leads.
Delays to public transport are likely, including flights and ferry services, and there is a chance power supplies could be affected during the weather warning.
