Thunderstorms are set to batter parts of Scotland as a second weather warning has been issued for Sunday.
A yellow weather alert for thunderstorms has been issued by the Met Office, which will come into force from midday until 10pm.
The alert will affect the central belt, Dumfries and Galloway, the Scottish Borders, parts of the Highlands and areas in Fife and Perth and Kinross.
The Met Office has warned flash flooding could occur due to heavy downpours, as well as lightning strikes and hail. Up to 40mm of rain could fall in affected areas.
It comes as a yellow weather alert for rain, first issued on Saturday, continues across much of the mainland on Sunday until midday.
Both alerts warn public transport may be affected by the weather, and passengers are urged to check their journeys beforehand.
There will be no let up to the downpours as Monday rolls around, as a second thunderstorm warning remains in place.
Monday’s yellow weather alert will come into force at 11am until 9pm, affecting most areas of the mainland.
Heavy downpours of rain will be the primary hazard, but lightning strikes are also likely along with the potential for hail and gusty winds.

Insight Philip Petrie STV weather presenter
It’s a fairly unsettled and changeable weekend for many of us – a stark contrast to last weekend when we were experiencing heatwave conditions!
Low pressure is dominating the weather, driving heavy pulses of rain and the odd isolated thunderstorm across Scotland – add to this some muggy nights and it’s a pretty bleak weekend for much of the country.
Sunday we will see further pulses of heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms pushing in from the east of Scotland, spreading into central and western parts by afternoon.
On Monday we have more heavy and slow moving showers covering a good portion of the country with the potential of 30-50mm of further rain falling in a few hours. The Met Office have issued a further warning this time covering most of Scotland apart from the Northern and Western Isles, and the north east of the mainland – this time the warning is for thunderstorms as the showers will be heavy and disruptive to start the week.
