A man has been extradited from Scotland in connection with the murder of an MI5 agent in Ireland.
Ex-Sinn Féin official Denis Donaldson was gunned down in County Donegal in 2006, just months after he admitted to being a police and MI5 agent for more than two decades.
Dissident republican group the Real IRA claimed responsibility for the fatal shooting in 2009.
A man, aged in his late 40s, was arrested on Monday by officials from the An Garda Siochana Extradition Unit, Garda National Bureau of Investigation and the Irish Air Corps.
The man, who was extradited from Scotland, was the subject of a European Arrest Warrant.
He is due to appear before the Special Criminal Court on Monday afternoon.
