A man has been charged in connection with money laundering after police seized around £85,000 in cash when a car was stopped and searched on a motorway in Dumfries and Galloway.
Officers stopped a Peugeot car travelling south on the A74(M) near Lockerbie on Friday night.
A 32-year-old man was subsequently charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Police Scotland said the incident “highlights our efforts to disrupt the activities of anyone involved in criminal activity”.
Adding that the help of the public is “key” in this work, the force appealed for anyone with information or concerns about such activities to contact them.
