An investigation has been launched after a man was found injured and unconscious on Saturday night in the Scottish Borders.

Emergency services were called to Mansefield Road in Hawick at around 10.20pm following reports of an injured 62-year-old man.

He was taken to hospital in Edinburgh for treatment. Detectives are trying to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.20pm on Saturday, August 9, 2025, police received a report of a man found injured and unconscious on Mansefield Road, Hawick.

” Emergency services attended and the 62-year-old man was taken to hospital in Edinburgh. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
