Five new buildings showcasing “architectural excellence” are in the running to be named the best in Scotland.

The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) will announce the winner of the 2021 Andrew Doolan Best Building in Scotland Award in November.

The Hill House Box, Helensburgh

The world’s largest chainmail structure gave the National Trust for Scotland the time and space to rescue a Charles Rennie Mackintosh masterpiece.
