A further 26 deaths and 12,602 new cases of Covid have been recorded in Scotland in the past 24 hours, according to official figures.
A total of 57,907 new tests reported results, with 25.1% testing positive – up from the 21.7% reported the previous day.
The figures included a note advising of delays between tests being taken and results being reported, but that Public Health Scotland is “continuing to monitor the situation”.
A total of 1362 people were in hospital on Friday with recently confirmed Covid-19, an increase of 39 overnight. Out of those, 48 patients are in intensive care.
The lab-confirmed death toll of those who tested positive within the previous 28 days currently stands at 9931. However, figures including suspected Covid-19 deaths recorded by National Records of Scotland suggest the most up-to-date total is now at least 12,470.
It was also confirmed that a total of 4,390,076 people in Scotland have received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, 4,041,550 their second, and 3,082,231 their third dose or booster.
