Five people have been arrested in connection with the assault of three British Transport Police (BTP) officers.

The incident happened in the car park at Stirling railway station just before 10.30pm on Friday night.

BTP said officers were made aware of a large group of youths congregating in the car park.

The officers asked them to leave the area but were then assaulted by several members of the group.

Three officers received medical treatment for “relatively minor injuries”.

Five people have since been arrested in connection with the incident.
