As we head into the new working week, our weather remains often wet and windy, with rain never too far away, and strong, blustery winds continuing.

The most noticeable change to our weather will be the milder conditions, with temperatures set to hit the mid-teens in a few spots in any brightness.

The unsettled and changeable conditions are a knock-on effect from the remnants of ex-hurricane Melissa, which are incorporated into the broader and complex area of low pressure that sits to the northwest of Scotland over the next couple of days, injecting additional moisture into the atmosphere and maintaining the wet, windy, and cloudy theme.

Today will be a mostly cloudy day with spells of rain feeding in from the south and west.

Throughout the day, we start to see drier and brighter breaks in the clouds around the south and southeast, with some brighter spells visible around Lossiemouth, Aberdeen, and Dundee, as temperatures reach highs of 15C/16C.

The greatest risk of rain will be in central and western areas, where it will also be blustery, with gusts of 30-40mph, and towards the northwest, gusts of 50mph.

Tomorrow will be a slightly brighter day in the north and east with further showery outbreaks of rain in the south and west. But wherever you are, it will remain a mild day with temperatures in the mid-teens.

Midweek onwards, there is still low confidence about the track of certain low-pressure systems influencing our weather, but conditions are expected to remain mild for the rest of the week.
