Employment levels have risen in Scotland thanks in part to more men gaining work, according to new figures.
The number of Scots with jobs rose by 18,000 to 2,654,000 between September and November.
While the number of women in the workplace remained relatively static at 1,283,000, the number of men in work increased to 1,371,000.
The latest data from the Office for National Statistics also show a decrease of 7,000 in the number of Scots out of work.
The unemployment total now stands at 105,000.
Scotland’s jobless rate among those aged 16 to 64 fell to 3.9%, with the overall rate slightly lower at 3.8%.
This was the same as for the UK as a whole, although the figures showed a higher employment rate across the UK.
There the employment rate among the working age population was 76.3% – the highest on record – compared to 74.3% in Scotland.
