'Do not eat': Porridge pulled from shelves over 'contamination with mice'

Porridge has been pulled from the shelves of major supermarkets over fears of possible mouse contamination.

MOMA Foods is recalling a number of porridge pots and sachet products due to potential contamination at a manufacturing site.

Issuing the notice via the Food Standards Agency (FSA), the products include 55g, 65g and 70g porridge pots and multipacks of sachets.

The porridge is sold in major supermarkets such as Tesco and Waitrose and is owned by Irn-Bru maker AG Barr.

Moma said no other products had been affected.

The full list of recalled flavours include:

• Almond Butter & Salted Caramel
• Apple, Cinnamon & Brown Sugar
• Banana & Peanut Butter Protein
• Blueberry & Vanilla 
• Cranberry & Raisin
• Golden Syrup
• Plain No-Added Sugar

The FSA said: “Any consumers who have purchased affected Moma porridge products are asked not to consume them.

“Instead, they should return the products to the store where they were purchased and a full refund will be issued.”
