So will we have a third named storm in the space of a week? Well, the Met Office haven’t named Storm Chloe just yet, but it isn’t out of the question.

There is a low pressure system approaching from the west on Tuesday that will bring with it some further strong winds.

However, we first need to get through the Storm Boelo, which arrives Saturday morning and sticks around throughout the entire weekend. The Met Office have issued an amber weather warning associated with Storm Boelo for the strong winds.

The new warning covers the whole of Scotland apart from Shetland and Orkney. It comes into effect 9pm Saturday night and runs all the way until Sunday night at 9pm. We can expect to see increasingly strong winds throughout Saturday and overnight into Sunday. Widely, we could see gusts of around 55 to 65mph and possibly gusts of up to 80mph around exposed coasts.

This will of course lead to a lot of travel disruption over the weekend, and annoyingly at this time of year there are a lot of outdoor events taking place such as pumpkin picking, autumn walks and spooky events which may be cancelled last minute.

There may come more warnings in the next 24 hours as we head throughout the weekend, but as Storm Boelo clears away into Monday we have a brief respite before our next low pressure system deepens and approaches on Tuesday.

This looks set to bring another very wet and windy day with further gusts of up to 80mph in the north and west, which could be our third named storm in the space of five days.
