Scotland has recorded another 956 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

The figures represents 14.9% of newly tested individuals, the Scottish Government confirmed.

In the Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board region, 296 new cases were identified, a drop on the 357 increase recorded the day before.

The Lothian region recorded 158 positive tests, two lower than Saturday, while there were 225 in Lanarkshire – an increase on the previous day’s 204.

There have been no reported deaths among people who have tested positive in the last day, meaning the total remains at 2550.

The number of people in hospital with recently confirmed Covid on Saturday was 449 – 35 of whom were in intensive care.
