Saturday night was ‘not alright’ for Glasgow city centre.
Normally a hotspot for late-night revellers and partygoers, the streets instead looked more like a ghost town as the country gets to grips with strengthened measures to tackle the coronavirus outbreak.
On Friday, both Prime Minister Boris Johnson and First Minister Nicola Sturgeon told all pubs, bars, clubs, restaurants and cafes to close due to the pandemic.
Most social and entertainment venues – including theatres, cinemas, gyms and leisure centres – have also shut up shop.
Earlier on Saturday, Scotland’s most senior police officer said the “overwhelming majority” had complied with the health advice as it was revealed a seventh patient had died from the virus.
