Coronavirus: No further deaths as cases rise by 397

As of Saturday morning, 2,535,889 Scots have received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.

A further 397 coronavirus cases have been recorded in Scotland overnight, the Scottish Government has confirmed.

Total confirmed cases of the virus in Scotland since the start of the pandemic has now risen to 219,643.

The daily test positivity rate is 2.1%, up from the 2% reported on Friday when 414 cases were recorded.

No further deaths have been reported.

The death toll of those who tested positive currently stands at 7614, however weekly figures on suspected Covid-19 deaths recorded by National Records of Scotland suggest the most up-to-date total is at least 9958.

It was also confirmed on Saturday that 2,535,889 Scots have received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, an increase of 20,141 from the day before.

A total of 434,941 people have received their second dose, a rise of 20,401.
