The number of people in Scotland to die after being diagnosed with coronavirus has risen to 542.

On Saturday, the Scottish Government said 47 deaths from Covid-19 had been recorded since yesterday.

A total of 5,590 people have now tested positive for the virus in Scotland, up by 315 from 5275 the day before.

There are 212 patients who were in intensive care overnight, an increase of five from Friday, with 202 of those having tested positive for the virus, also at an increase of five since the previous day.

There were 1855 people in Scottish hospitals with either confirmed or suspected COVID-19, including those in intensive care, up by 23 patients.
