A group of 20 people – including children – had to be rescued after being cut off by the tide in the south of Scotland.
The holidaymakers became stranded off the coast of Southerness, in Dumfries and Galloway, on Tuesday afternoon.
Silloth RNLI lifeboat, with assistance from Kippford RNLI, arrived on the scene at just after 3.30pm.
One non-swimmer, who had bee given a life ring by bodyboarders in the area, was taken to safety by lifeboat.
A statement by Silloth RNLI posted on Facebook said: “Silloth RNLI lifeboat senior helmsman Steven Henderson, skillfully negotiated the boat through the rocks to take the casualty as close to the beach as possible and two crew members accompanied the casualty to the shore, where Police Scotland and Portling Coastguard were waiting.”
The other members of the stranded group, who were waist-deep in seawater at the time of the rescue, were escorted by the bodyboarders to safety.
