Humza Yousaf is facing FMQs ahead of an announcement expected later on a public inquiry into the handling of the Emma Caldwell murder investigation.
At First Minister’s Questions last week, the SNP leader was urged by Labour and the Tories to immediately announce a probe.
Yousaf said he wanted to wait until he had met with Caldwell’s family, which took place on Tuesday.
Justice secretary Angela Constance is expected to announce the inquiry after 2.30pm in Holyrood.
FMQs also comes a day after the UK Budget was announced which the chancellor said will bring an extra £300m to Scotland.
Jeremy Hunt also confirmed an extension of the windfall tax until 2029 – a policy opposed by the SNP and Scottish Tories.
