Keir Starmer is set to face leader of the opposition Kemi Badenoch at Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday, following a small drop in inflation.
The Prime Minister is likely to face questions on the issue after the Office for National Statistics said inflation fell unexpectedly to 2.5% in December, despite economists projecting the rate to stay the same.
It marks a very slight decrease from the 2.6% Consumer Prices Index inflation rate in November and means that prices are still rising, but at a slower rate than before.
Meanwhile, Starmer will likely also face questions over the resignation of treasury secretary Tulip Siddiq on Tuesday, which comes after growing pressure over an anti-corruption investigation in Bangladesh.
