Russell Findlay is leading the opposition at FMQs for the first time after winning the Scottish Tory leadership election.
Findlay defeated Murdo Fraser and Meghan Gallacher in the Scottish Conservative leadership race last week, and took over from Douglas Ross who had led the party since 2020.
He will now quiz John Swinney during FMQs on Thursday for the first time as leader.
The Scottish Lib Dem’s are urging Scottish Conservative voters to abandon the party after the last election.
Leader Alex Cole-Hamilton said voters want a political party that is “caring and sensible” instead of those who “cheered on Truss’s economic chaos”.
Swinney could be quizzed on the rising rate of mental health conditions among Scotland’s population, after data from the census showed that is has more than doubled in the last decade.
Figures released on Thursday show 617,100 people reported having a mental health issue in the 2022 survey – 11.3% of the population – an increase from 4.4% in 2011.
