John Swinney will be quizzed by MSPs at First Minister’s Questions on Thursday, following this weeks’ announcement that hundreds of jobs will be lost at the Mossmorran plastics plant.
ExxonMobil announced plans on Tuesday to shutter the site in Fife, putting 400 jobs at risk.
ExxonMobil chairman Paul Greenwood said “deliberate” policies of the UK Government are “undermining” the business.
However, UK industry minister Chris McDonald has indicated the government is not prepared to keep the site open.
The First Minister will likely face questions from opposition leaders over the decision to shutter the plant at FMQs, after the Scottish Government said it would “explore all options” to support workers.
