Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale has published her tax returns and called for other party leaders to do the same.

The party said the returns showed her only income is the salary she receives as an MSP.

Ms Dugdale released the document on Saturday following revelations about David Cameron's involvement in the "Panama Papers" scandal.

The Prime Minister told the Conservatives' spring forum he could have handled the revelations about his holdings in his late father's offshore fund "better."

Ms Dugdale said: "Politicians need to not only play by the rules, they need to be seen to be playing by the rules.

"So today I am publishing my tax return for last year. I have nothing to hide. And I challenge my fellow Scottish party leaders to do the same.

"Let the voters see that we all play by the same rules."

Labour added that Ms Dugdale's fee for her Daily Record column was donated in full to the charity MND Scotland.

An SNP spokeswoman said: "As Nicola Sturgeon has made clear, her only source of income is her salary as MSP and First Minister, which is already a matter of public record, and she will be happy to publish her tax returns."

The Scottish Liberal Democrats said Willie Rennie would be "more than happy to publish his tax returns."

The Scottish Greens said their co-conveners Patrick Harvie and Maggie Chapman would publish their tax returns, as would their candidates.

The Scottish Conservatives said Ruth Davidson would be publishing her tax returns.
