A young girl has been left “distressed” after being attacked in a park in Fife by a man.
A member of the public contacted police following the assault at Rex Park in Dunfermline around 4.55pm on Sunday.
Officers described the man involved as white, early 40s, around 6ft tall, slim build and possibly balding but with dark and untidy hair.
He was wearing a bright orange jacket with an orange hood, blue jeans and boots.
Police said the young girl was uninjured in the attack but left “distressed”.
An investigation has been launched to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
Police Scotland is urging anyone with information to come forward.
Chief Inspector Chris Dow said: “Extensive enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
“We are trying to trace those involved and urge the man to please contact police to ensure everyone is safe and well.
“Officers remain in the area and are viewing CCTV footage. Anyone with concerns can approach these officers.
“If anyone has information that may assist please contact 101 quoting incident number 2256 of March 16.”
