A woman who went missing 11 days ago has been found “safe and well”.

Police launched a search for Rachel McKinney after she was last seen getting off a bus in Dundee’s Crichton Street at around 3.05pm on Monday, December 9.

Investigating officers later established that the 33-year-old, from Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire, took a bus from Edinburgh Airport on Sunday night and arrived in Dundee’s Union Street during the early hours of Monday morning.

Police asked passengers travelling on the bus to come forward with information and appealed directly to Ms McKinney to let them know she was safe.

On Friday, the force confirmed she had been traced in Dundee.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Rachel has been traced this afternoon in Dundee and is safe and well.

“Officers would like to thank everyone who contacted them, and shared our appeals.”
