A man entered the newsagents on Saturday morning where he threatened the woman working there with a weapon before demanding money.

A female shop worker was threatened with a weapon during an armed robbery in Dundee.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning around 4.50am at Forbes Newsagents on Clepington Road in the city.

A man entered the store where he threatened the woman working there with a weapon before demanding money.

He made off on foot with a three-figure sum of cash.

Police investigating the incident have described the man as being aged in his twenties, around 5ft 10ins tall of slim build, and was wearing dark coloured clothing.

Detective constable Iain McIntosh from Dundee CID said: “Officers are conducting enquiries and the investigation is at an early stage.

“We are asking anyone who was in the area at the time of this robbery and may have seen a person in dark clothing acting suspiciously, or observed running away from the area, to get in touch with officers as soon as possible.

“Those with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0717 of Saturday March 11 2023, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
