Police are on the hunt for two teenagers after a woman was punched on the face by one of the boys before they sped off on bikes.

The assault took place on a path between Cookston Crescent and Mountskip Road in Brechin, Angus, between 2.15pm and 2.30pm on Monday.

Police said the woman was walking towards Mountskip Road when two youths riding bikes approached her.

One of the boys then punched her on the face, causing a facial injury.

The pair, both believed to be around 15 years old, then cycled off towards the nearby nature trail.

The attacker was wearing dark clothing, with possibly a dark blue jacket.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “If you have any information that could assist our investigation, please call 101 or speak with any police officer.”
