Woman killed in Mini Cooper crash near farm named by police

Police have urged witnesses of the crash on Thursday, November 17 to come forward.

A woman who died in a fatal crash on the A9 has been named by police.

Claire Wilson, 55, died in the collision on Thursday, November 17 at 9.20pm between Luncarty and Bankfoot in Perthshire, just outside Newmill Farm.

Ms Wilson, from Dunfermline, was the sole occupant of a Mini Cooper, the only vehicle involved in the incident.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency services closed the A9 northbound while investigations were carried out at the scene.

It re-opened around 2.30am on Friday, November 18.

Sergeant Gordon Dickson said: “Our thoughts are with Claire’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances which led to this collision and I would urge anyone with information who has not yet spoken to police to come forward.

“You can call 101, quoting reference 3418 of Thursday, November 17.”
