A woman who died after being attacked by an American Bulldog at a flat in Aberdeen had previously been charged after the animal attacked another dog.
Michelle McLeod was pronounced dead at the scene after being attacked by a dog inside a property on Foresterhill Road at around 11.15pm on Saturday.
It was confirmed the dog involved, an American Bulldog, had been put down following the incident.
In June, a 41-year-old woman was charged following a report of a dog attacking another dog in the same area of Foresterhill Road.
The injured dog was taken to a vet for treatment for minor injuries.
STV News understands the woman charged was Ms McLeod.
Ms McLeod’s family said in a statement they were devastated by her loss.
They added: “She was a much-loved mother, daughter and friend to many and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
“We would like to ask that our privacy be respected and allow us to grieve at this very difficult time.”
