A car involved in a fatal crash at a roundabout in Berwick-upon-Tweed had travelled through Scotland earlier in the day.
Police were called to the Highfields Roundabout around 8.40pm on January 28 after a black Peugeot 407 Coupe, which was travelling southbound, came off the road onto a nearby embankment.
Emergency services attended, and a female passenger, a woman in her 40s, died at the scene.
The driver, a man aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
The vehicle had travelled from Dundee to Northumberland between 2pm and 8.40pm on the day of the incident.
Northumbria Police are appealing for anyone who saw the vehicle or has dashcam footage to get in touch.
