A woman has died after she was found injured on a street in Inverness city centre on Wednesday afternoon.
Police closed down Strothers Lane after receiving a report of a woman found injured at around 3.40pm.
The 71-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death is being treated as unexplained, but there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
The road has since been re-opened.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
