Woman and teen arrested after boy, 11, injured in assault at school

A 17-year-old teenager and a 34-year-old woman have been arrested after an assault at a school in Kirriemuir.

An 11-year-old child has been taken to hospital and a teenager and a woman have been arrested following an alleged assault at a school in Angus.

Police Scotland were called to a school in Kirriemuir at around 2.55pm on Tuesday, after receiving reports of the incident.

An 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment following the incident.

A 17-year-old male and a 34-year-old woman were arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

They are due to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court at a later date.

A 12-year-old girl will also be reported to the relevant authorities in connection.

A police spokesperson said: “Around 2.55pm on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, officers received a report of an assault which happened at a school in Kirriemuir.

“An 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment.

“A 12-year-old girl will be reported to the relevant authorities.

“A 17-year-old male and a 34-year-old woman have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and are due to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court at a later date.”
