A 78-year-old woman has died following a collision involving a lorry on the A92 in Fife.

The crash occurred at around 11.10am on Wednesday near the Logie Junction at Kilmany and involved a blue Honda Jazz and a green ENVA HGV lorry.

Emergency services including police, fire and ambulance attended, however the 78-year-old female driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her family has been informed.

Police confirmed there were no other injuries.

The A92 was closed for several hours while officers carried out a crash investigation, eventually reopening at 6pm.

Sergeant Tom Aitken said: “Our thoughts remain with the family of the woman who died at this extremely difficult time.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or who saw either vehicle prior, to please get in touch with officers.

“I’d also ask those with dash-cam footage who were driving in the area at the time to review this to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1145 of July 29.
