A woman has died after reportedly falling unwell at a gym in Aberdeen.

Police and ambulance crews were called to Bannatyne Health Club and Spa on Laurel Drive at around 6.35pm on Monday following reports that a person had taken unwell.

A 73-year-old woman was pronounced dead a short time after emergency services arrived.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious and a report is due to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A spokesperson from the force said: “Around 6.35pm on Monday, February 17, 2025, we received a report that a person had taken unwell at a premises on Laurel Drive, Aberdeen.

“Emergency services attended and a 73-year-old woman was pronounced dead a short time later. Her next of kin are aware.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
