Police are appealing for witnesses after a caravan was set on fire outside a home in Dundee.

The vehicle, which was sitting in the owner’s driveway on St Filans Road, was torched during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Officers say emergency crews were alerted around 1.30am and firefighters extinguished the blaze shortly after.

Police constable Malcolm MacKenzie said: “Fortunately no one was injured but this was a reckless act in a residential area.

“The fire is being treated as wilful and I am asking anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious to get in touch.

“In addition, if you have CCTV footage or were driving in the area and have dash-cam footage then please made contact with officers.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0287 of Saturday, May 21, 2022, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
