Aberdeenshire residents have been urged to close their windows and doors as emergency services battle a wildfire.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to a fire in the open near homes on Cairnhill Road in Fraserburgh.
Four engines are on the scene, working to extinguish the blaze. Those living nearby have been told to keep their windows and doors closed due to the smoke.
Members of the public have been asked to stay away from the area.
Videos from social media show the flames tearing through the gorse, with smoke billowing over the nearby homes.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews are currently at the scene of a fire in the open near residential properties in Cairnhill Road, Rosehearty in Fraserburgh.
“Four fire appliances are currently at the incident. “Local residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed due to heavy smoke travel.
“People are also advised to stay away from the area.”
