A rescue team has issued a warning to wild swimmers after two people were rescued at a popular beauty spot in Perth and Kinross.

Tayside Mountain Rescue Team were called out on July 19 after receiving reports of a man and woman trapped at the Falls of Bruar.

Volunteers were assisted by Nae Limits Adventure, who were able to rescue the pair.

The rescue team issued a warning to wild swimmers after the incident, stating that works in the area have made the spot susceptible to flash flooding.

Tayside Mountain Rescue Team said that swimmers should be careful, adding that the works will be ongoing until September.

A police spokesperson said: “Around 1.05pm on Friday, July 19, 2024 police received a report of a male and female trapped in water at the Falls of Bruar near Blair Atholl.

“Emergency services attended and they were both rescued from the water around 2pm and assessed by Scottish Ambulance Service.”
