Two Scottish men have been jailed after carrying out three petrol bomb attacks in Wales.

Yasin Hussain, 18, and Adam Taylor-Morris, 19, were sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court on Monday.

Both men had previously pleaded guilty to three counts of arson with intent to endanger life following an investigation by South Wales Police.

The attacks took place in the early hours of Monday, June 1, after the pair were driven down from Scotland by Taylor-Morris’s sister, Danni Taylor.

The first incident happened at around 4am on Porcher Avenue in Glyncoch. A family inside the property were woken when a brick was thrown through their living room window.

A “Molotov cocktail” was then aimed at the broken window but failed to go through, smashing on the floor outside. The two men fled the scene.

They then travelled by taxi to Caerphilly, where a second attack took place at around 7am at an address on Wallis Drive.

A brick was thrown through a window before a glass bottle containing petrol was thrown inside. It ignited on impact, but the fire was quickly extinguished.

The pair then travelled by taxi back to Glyncoch for the third incident, at an address on Pearson Crescent, at around 9am.

CCTV showed the men loitering outside the property for several minutes before approaching. Taylor-Morris filmed on his phone as Hussain threw a Molotov cocktail through an open living room window, setting the room alight.

Detective Constable Connor Michael said the attacks were “deliberate and dangerous” and could have resulted in serious injury or loss of life.

Danni Taylor, 24, from Perth and Kinross, pleaded guilty to participating in the criminal activities of an organised crime group. She will be sentenced at a later date.

He said: “These were deliberate and dangerous arson attacks which could’ve had devastating consequences, including serious injury or loss of life.

“The sentences handed down reflect the severity of the offenders’ actions, and we hope they serve as a warning that such reckless behaviour will not be tolerated. We would also like to thank Police Scotland and Gwent Police for their assistance throughout the investigation.”
