Two men, including a teenager, are fighting for life in hospital after a serious crash in Angus.

The collision, involving a Volkswagen Polo and an Audi A6, happened on the A935 Montrose to Brechin road near Bridge of Dun around 5.30pm on Friday.

The 19-year-old driver of the Polo is critical in hospital. The 56-year-old driver of the Audi was airlifted to hospital where his condition is also described as critical.

The 20-year-old man, who was a passenger in the Polo, is described as stable. The 14-year-old girl who was passenger in the Audi was taken to hospital to be checked over.

Sergeant Iain McNamara said: “Our enquiries are continuing into the crash and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed it take place or who was in the area at the time to contact us with any information.

“Any drivers with dash-cam footage are asked to check it as it could have captured images which could assist our enquiries.

“Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 2723 of 28 August.”

It comes only hours after a 41-year-old man was killed in a crash in Perthshire.
