Two men have been charged after a cannabis cultivation with an estimated street value of up to £1.6m was discovered in Dundee.

Police executed a warrant at an address on Buchanan Street on Thursday afternoon, with assistance from Police Dog Odin.

Officers say approximately 2,000 plants were recovered from the property.

The men, both aged 43, were due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Friday.

Detective Inspector Keir Smith said: “This was a significant recovery which highlights our continued commitment to the Serious and Organised Crime taskforce and the country’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy.

“Information from the public is vital to our work, and we continue to urge people to report any concerns to us.”
