Two men arrested in connection with ‘deliberate’ fire

Two men have been arrested in connection with a fire in Moray.

Emergency services attended the blaze at a property on Fraser Road, Burghead just before 10pm on Thursday.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the flames shortly after and no one was injured.

Police have now arrested two men, aged 24 and 20, in connection with the incident.

Investigating officers are also appealing for information.

Detective Sergeant Robbie Williams, of Elgin CID, said: “Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and we would urge anyone who may have seen a white car in the area around the time of the incident or who has CCTV or dashcam footage to contact police. 

“Anyone with information should contact police via 101.”
