Two people are in hospital and a major road has been closed following a crash involving a car and a school minibus in Aberdeenshire.
Police confirmed the A944 at Alford was closed in both directions between the town and nearby Whitehouse following the collision which occurred after 3pm on Thursday.
Two people were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the crash.
Emergency services remain on the scene with drivers urged to avoid the area.
A Police Scotland statement read: “Around 3.10pm today, we received a report of a crash involving a car and a mini bus on the A944 at Alford.
“Emergency services are in attendance and the A944 is closed in both directions between Alford and Whitehouse.
“Drivers are asked to avoid the area.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 3.05pm today to attend a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A944, Alford.
“We dispatched two ambulances to the scene and two patients were transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
Aberdeenshire Council confirmed a school transport service was involved in a collision on the A944.
