Two charged over shooting of teen after arrests in Aberdeen

Armed police evacuated the guest house and closed a nearby road for several hours as part of the operation.

Two people arrested in Aberdeen have been charged in connection with a shooting in Sheffield as a 16-year-old boy continues to fight for his life.

Police were called to London Road at about 5.15pm on November 24 following reports a teenager had been shot.

The boy was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition, South Yorkshire Police said on Tuesday.

Police Scotland carried out a raid at CitiHouse Aberdeen West End around 8pm on Saturday in connection with the incident.

Guests were evacuated, and Great Western Road was closed to traffic for several hours while armed police searched the property.

South Yorkshire Police said a man and a woman were charged with related offences on Monday evening and will appear in court on Tuesday.

Tanzir Ali, 26, of Glencoe Road, Sheffield, is charged with attempted murder and possessing a firearm without a certificate.

Sharna Osborne, 23, of Greenhill Road, Sheffield, is charged with assisting an offender.

They are due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court.

The force said two boys, aged 15 and 16, who were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder remain on police bail pending further inquiries.

A 40-year-old man who was arrested earlier this week on suspicion of assisting an offender has also been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

A force spokesman said: “Reassurance patrols are continuing to take place in the London Road area and we would urge anyone with concerns or queries to please flag down our officers and speak to them while they are in your area.”
